Silleteros History Parade

About 430 farmers, men, women and children from various villages of Santa Elena, decked with colorful flowers 46th version Silleteros Parade. silleteros The parade will be on August 7, at two evening and morning, to facilitate travel and work with the flowers of the people of Santa Elena. All this fantasy began in 1957 when Don Arturo Arango Uribe came to invite a group of Medellin Santa silleteros Elena, to participate in a parade, which aimed to show the beauty of flowers and entertain the community, a task that they performed silently as they came down to the “Capital of Eternal Spring” to sell their flowers to the residents or adorn the altars of the churches. The meeting was attended 40 silleteros that focused on the Bolivar Park, with such good acceptance in society, a group of citizens proposed that peasants be organized to conduct a more colorful parade, which is fulfilled by the main roads of Bella Villa, thus giving birth to what we know today as Silleteros Parade.

In 1958 the Parade achieves greater coverage of the media and travel, which was at that time with 100 Participants took their starting point the Teatro Pablo Tobon Uribe, moving then Avenida La Playa to cross the Junín career to reach its final destination in downtown Bolivar Park.
